no you didn't Goldie it continues in 'happy hour' share a funny story, photo, draw a cute picture and post it of your fish babies or tell a joke. I hope it keeps going at least over the holidays
Sending you a virtual advent calendar with maybe a few doors already open?...sorry Ima chocoholic but in compensation I send a virtual festive drink with your choice of spirits added or not
Have an awesome night!

Heehee well ok here's my funny story with a fishy picture, sorry it be random.
I was at Lfs the other week and saw a new shipment of comets. A yellow and white baby caught my eye and I called the worker over. She tried to separate him from maybe 100 other fish with no success, so I took the net and proceeded...well...to do it myself. After a long and tedious time (about 25 minutes) I managed to get 'im.
My mom was furious...she went on the classic, "no more fish!" tangent, but I offered to let her name him so she was reluctantly consoled. She looked at the 1 1/2 cm long creature and declared he was a tiny whisp of a thing, thus he was christened Whisp.
After being treated with salt and a few handy meds, Whisp was released into the main tank. Terrified of all the other fish, he decided to remain hiding in a plant for over 3 days. But when I cleaned the tank that weekend and removed the plant, he was forced to meet the fellow giants in the tank. He has now happily become one of them. Also, it is very hard to take a picture of a fish this small.

Sorry for being so spontanious, but when prompted I can never refuse!
April, I graciously receive this half devoured virtual calander, and the drink is virtually delicious! Here is a virtual box of Christmas cookies as well

I don't usually tell my mom until I've actually bought the fish
Not that it bothers her, she likes looking at my fishies, as long as she doesn't have to change the water

Usually I have to tell my mom because if I tell my dad to drive there he will ask my mom if it is okay.

Usually I have to tell my mom because if I tell my dad to drive there he will ask my mom if it is okay.
Also most of us are living by themselves and with our partners, husbands, so we must not ask mum anymore. We share our experience and joy with our mums and dads and they are happy to hear about it and they are amazed too
As long as one lives with parents and they finance the hobby or part of it, I believe it is fair enough that one should ask if it is OK to get another fish, etc.

This is very true, well said Hanna
I am on my own fantailer. I still find that my Mom likes to add her thoughts about my animal situation (7 birds and my Goldie) sometimes and I welcome them and sometimes it's frustrating too but I'm so grateful to be able to share my positive experience with them ♥ Parents always want the best for their kids even if it doesn't seem like it to you at the time. You will come to understand this one day too sweetie

Yea! I'm 19!!
And I agree, really, your parents are always very helpful, you'll notice that especially in the end when you'll see how well they raised you
But I do think mom would panic about my water changing and whatnot, so it's a pretty good thing I live away from home, nobody wants half their house covered in water xD (not that it happens often)

My mum actually spills the bucket when she is carrying it out to put on her plants
My mum loves my fish but really has nothing to do with them. Either does my dad, he just says goodnight to them every night
I am 20 though so it would seem a bit weird if they said no more fish, I could understand why they would say no more tanks though due to electricity and I agree

Minde: Nah, it was that one time when I was setting up the NEW external filter (a few months ago now) and I had no clue about how to "turn it on"!! In the end, I had forgotten to put the little "cap" at the end of the spraybar AFTER the filter was on, so *brains brains* I tried to plug it while it was on full power. I got an unwanted shower, but I could almost hear the fish laugh at me
Then a few times after that before I got used to how to maintain the filter I had a few minor floods as well, but nothing worse C:
Lately things are going great!
Andrea: My dad was never a pet person either, but he does ask about my fish sometimes and when it's time to change water for them and whatnot
(He liked the guinea pigs too even if he wouldn't admit it...)

LOL! Nossie...that's funny!
Well I had a small flood too when I forgot to unplug the fluval cansister filter when I first went to clean it.
So water kept pumping as I unlatched the top. Haha mini flood here too!

One of my first jobs was working in a tanning/hair salon as receptionist and was asked me to wash some clients hair because it was so busy but I had never done that before...you know that hose they use with the shower part on the end? Yeah I lost my grip on that darn thing and it flew all over the place like a wiley snake spewing, soaking the ceiling and walls, the customers waiting...the horror
lucky I didn't get fired! It was pretty funny though, the look on salon owners face as she was the one who asked me to help!
