WELCOME HOME TATSU!!!!

I finally got my long awaited Betta today

He is lovely iridescent green with red fins ... he even is iridescent purple in some light

( I found this out on the drive home lol)

He is acting great other than glaring at Bubbles and Spaz lol

This is him in his temporary home

PS the pictures don't do him justice at all

Please comment

I know how it is, taking pics of Barbarossa, they never show his real beauty Wink

Everyone keeps saying his tank is too small but he is doing great

LOL Bubbles and Spaz swim by interested in him but not like bothering him or angry its kinda like they like his reactions lol

And his tank isnt finished. I have to get him a few plants and toys to get him interested

I love my new little guy

Sure you love him, we all love our fishies, hey Grin

I think your tank you keep him in is MUUUUUUUUUUUCH better than many others I've seen before.
If you give him a few real plants in time to come, do your regular waterchanges and keep the water chemistry right he'll be a happy fish.
Our Barbarossa lately started to come to me when I open the lid to feed him. He's sitting there at the water surface and waiting for his betta-granules. I now give one at the time for him to eat, when he gulped it the next one... but no more than 6 per feed.
Then I feed the neons and the corys Wink

(as you know they are all in one tank)

Our goldies always create a feeding frenzy, especially when I soak their food in "Garlic Guard" LOL they love that garlic scent, haha

BTW, when you've got a bit more time to spend at your PC, have a read through all those different posts here in "Pictures and Videos" you'll see all different set ups and sizes of tanks.

mine do too they act like they've never seen food before lol

They do, they always seem to be hungry, but this is a good sign. In my goldfish book I read the following:
A SLIGHTLY HUNGRY GOLDFISH IS A HEALTHY GOLDFISH

Elli: I would advice you NOT to add anything more into that tank. It will just be taking up space, and space is always better the more there is of it. Besides, "toys" are just destroying the impression of a beautiful, natural environment. Other than that, the tank is just fine for a betta!

well the live plants have been in the goldfish or i would ... Also the thread I posted ... The toys weren't for this tank they were for the ten gallon. And the only toy I was going to add what a coconut shell

Ah I see, let's hope they will find some loving and caring parents, Wink

... just such a shame that you are not allowed to have the 40g yet. I am sure they would have given you so much love and joy back, those two little buddies.

But it is time now to look forward, keep them in loving memory, start with your college. For this I wish you joy, strenght and success, focus on your biology so eventually you'll be properly set for your life and then enjoy the aquatic hobby more and more Wink

Wow, he is so pretty! I have a betta as well, but I haven't named him yet. He often comes up and I hand-feed him, and he curls around my hand.

He looks very very normal.

Our Barbarossa now comes to the front and gets so excited when I feed him, I can imagine he soon will be very confident with my hand too, lol Grin

I worry sometimes

But they all look great ... I lost a little oto today Sad

but he was sick when i got him Sad

everyone else seems great and should be fine he was in the tank less than 24 hours.

lol tatsu was comfortable from the beginning

You should try it when he's ready

its so cute : )

I'll put up new pics as soon as i get the plants replanted lol he keeps uprooting them
