Hi,

I added photos of my fish at (Link is not visible to guests. Please register to view.)

Ok, looked at the photos and I would guess fin rot.
what are the ingredients in the white spot medicine you used?
Please get your water tested...if you don't have a test kit, either buy one, you will need it often....OR go take a sample to a local pet place and have them test it....most will test it for free!
Please post results of tests here!

If you could give us all this information asap we can guide you through what to do.

For now I can say this is a severe case of fin rot which needs treatment ASAP.
But before starting a treatment you should perform a 50% waterchange, adding beneficial bacteria, conditioner, pH adjust ( this one if necessary )

Adding meds to bad water creates more disaster.

You also MUST have the water tested ASAP and please post the numerical results

Hi,

I would like to thank both of you. I did a water change an hour ago. Tomorrow I will buy the kit ( if the petshop is open ) and the necessary treatment for rot fin.

Performing water changes once every 2 months is way not enough!!
especially when you don't even test your water.
Really 99% of all problems of fish are that they don't have pristine water quality.
It is much easier to prevent illness than it is to treat illness!
You should be testing you water once a week and performing water changes according to the test results!
Ammonia and nitrites should ALWAYS read zero and nitrates should be no higher than 40ppm.
Otherwise you take a real chance in your fish getting sick.
Well keep us posted on the test results and what you decide to treat with.

We all have filters here too, but as Minde said: 30% waterchanges every 2 months Huh Far too less, this is nothing, sorry to say Sad
Filters don't replace clean water. How often do you maintain the filter? How big is it, how much does it turn per hour?
You really should do 50% waterchanges every week, on a regular schedule.

What do you mean "He drinks a lot" Fish don't drink, they live in water, lol. Do you mean that he opens his little mouth all the time?
This is normal, he pumps water through his gills to absorb oxygen. Does he spend quite some time at the surface?

You aslo really should use beneficial bacteria to aid in the nitogen cycle.
How long did your tank run before you added the fish?

Do you have an airstone?

PLEASE get this water tested asap and post the numerical results and we'll guide you from there to get your fish healthy asap.

Good Luck
