Hello, I have an Oranda whos head is getting shapped to where the front is so big his mouth is receased back. He is haveing trouble eating. Has anyone ever had one that has grown like this? he looks like the elephant man. I feel bad because he was grwing so fast and now my other oranda who is a month younger is getting bigger than him.

I know that sometimes the wen of certain fish has to be trimmed. I have never had to deal with it (luckily). I'm sure someone can advise you. Personally, I would contact a vet- but that's just me, I call my vet for everything.

You could do it yourself, but then you need to have some more experience with fish imo.
You need to know where to trim and how deep you can go without causing damage to the eyes or skin of the fish.
So look around, see if you can find a vet In the end I doubt he's having that hard of a time, just take good care of the fish and try looking for some vets that may be a small journey away, or one that could come to your place and perform the procedure. That would be ideal!
