Maybe you should keep her quarantined for a while and check her appetite while she is alone? When I bought Baby she was barely an inch long, and I kept her separately for about a month to see how eager she is to get food, and I dropped her in with fish twice her size and bigger, and she's doing just fine, growing like a boss! Cheesy

It could be that you'll need to feed the fish some smaller or softer pieces of food for a while until the new one will grow some, maybe the mouth will get better? Or at least it'd get bigger. Can you post photos? Smiley

I did as you said Nossie...quarentined her and found out that she eats like a horse. So I don't have to worry too much about her competing.  Wink I don't think her mouth will ever be shaped like a "normal" goldfish's mouth...one side is pretty sunken in on the inside, but I've discovered I'm already getting attatched to her! Will post photos when I get some for ya.

Oh and ONE OF CRYSTAL'S SCALES IS GROWING BACK!!! It is still a little transparent, but I can see it shining in good lighting. Think that salt helped...thanks for the idea Nossie! 2 down, 1 to go lol. Gotta post photos of that too.

Nice! Cheesy She probably won't have any major problems, if she did, she'd have them already. A deformed mouth is a pretty big problem for a goldfish, so she may need some babying with smaller foods Wink

I find, Nossie, that she is doing pretty well without having to crush her food up tiny. You're right...she's survived this long, so it can't be too big of a deal lol. And I'm so super happy about Crystal! Her scale is almost as good as new. She is growing too...think she's already a 1/2 inch bigger now than when I first got her.
