Sinking goldfish
«

I was wondering if anyone can tell me why my fantail goldfish is sinking to the bottom of the tank and sits at the bottom for most of the day, except when being fed, it will swim up to get some feed then sink, to the bottom. The goldfish has not grown like the others in the tank and seems a little stunted in growth and not gaining much weight. Got all the fish at the same time,

apparently the fish is not ok, but we need to know your water parameters (ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and pH) to start with, a picture of the fish might help. what is the tank size and how many fishes are there? and in general there is a template in a forum thread on the top, fill it in with all relevant info. otherwise no one is not going to help as the information is lacking.

I have the same issue but my fish is HUGE and he is lethargic and seems unhappy. The water situation is the same as always and im not sure how to get all the info regarding water. My tank is 25 gallons and my fish is about 4 x3/12 inches and he has a hump on his back but has had it for the 3 1/2 yrs ive had him.

Buy yourself a test kit, test pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate! Make sure the pH is between 7-8.5, ammonia 0, nitrite 0 and nitrate 40ppm MAX!
But actually, I'd just do a large water change. Remove maybe 50% of the water and replace it with dechlorinated fresh water.
In the meantime, you could tell me how often you usually change the water and how much?
