Sanitizing my QT Tank
« on: December 27, 2010, 07:20:16 PM »

I've read conflicting posts and articles on how to properly sanitize my aquarium. Should I use salt or clorox? Right now, I have my filter running and my net, plant and and thermometer are sitting in 120 degree water right now. I'm not sure how much salt I put in, but I put in a lot. I don't have a problem draining it and filling with clorox, but I'm confused and I want to do things right.

You can use bleach and then rinse real well using double strength water condtioner that takes out chlorine.
You don't need much bleach, only a Tbs per gallon would be sufficient. Smiley
