Goldfish has growth on his side - Questions

My approx 4 year old goldfish has a growth on its side.  He had it previously and my other goldfish ate? it off.  It is now back and larger than ever.  Anyone know what this is?  Bacterial maybe??  Anyone know if there is anything I can do for him?  It doesn't seem to affect him and he is otherwise perfectly healthy.

Looks like it could be a tumor. Some tumor are harmless while others are cancerous. The only way to know for sure is for a fish vet to do a biopsy on the tumor. Then once the tumor is removed , the fish has to be treated with an antibiotic to prevent the wound from becoming infected. Some fish will live just fine with the tumor still there as long as it is  non-cancerous.
