Hey everyone!
So I wanted to share with you all a little project I've been doing

I got some pond weed from my Dad's garden (originally intended for Lucky) and while quarantining it, I found some critters living in it, Water Louse.
Naturally being the nutter I am, thought 'Awesome! They can live with the snails!', however with the sand substrate in the tank looking gross, I realised I needed a different substrate.
Preferably something that wouldn't need to be cleaned, because I found it hard enough to clean while dodging snails, let alone bringing another little creature into the picture.
So I looked into aquatic soil, but all of it was rather expensive and consisted of massive bags when I only wanted a little bit, so instead I asked my Dad if I could have some mud from his pond.
So after removing all the snails (which seemed to never end) I swapped out the tanks substrate, added some driftwood, some small rocks and put the plants back in.
Now since the waters all settled, I've noticed in the pond mud, I've had a few hitch hikers

Now I also have Daphnia, and what I believe is two types of worms, round worms (who hang out in the soil) and flat worms (which glide over the tank glass).
