Thank you so much nossie! Sounds like velvet on closer examination. I did the 70% water change but took out the rest of the medication because it doesn't treat for velvet or ich, only gill flukes and some other stuff my fish don't have. Been keeping tabs on water quality - it's perfect, so it can't be ammonia that's the problem. I have a .3 solution of salt in the water because I am treating for ich so I think I'll raise the temp to about 72.

Broad spectrum med - Like Lifeguard by tetra? Says it treats ich and some other stuff...

I took Gold Dust out of the main tank for now. I'm afraid of her spreading something...ugh!! I really can't tell what the problem is! I read somewhere that after you have a bout of ich then sometimes you will see dark smudges as a sign of healing but they've just been multiplying! Yesterday she only had a few and now today her whole head is covered in this stuff.

I mean a medication that will deal with many different parasites Smiley I guess Lifeguard is a general "shotgun" medication that deals with both parasites and bacterial infections?

It's normal that the spots multiply when you start treating the fish, it'll go away soon Smiley The spots are reactions of the immune system actually, the parasites are under the skin of the fish, and the body reacts this way to protect the fish.
It might be a good idea to buy some medicated food against parasites and internal worms! Just to be safe.

Thanks Hanna, I hope she does well Smiley She has a pretty large wen growth for someone her age (she's no bigger than Gold Dust was) and though you can't see it in the photo her cheeks are so puffy and cute XD She makes me happy lol. No other fish could comfort me for the loss of my other chu as much  Kiss Her eyes are half brown/half blue (The top half being brown, the photo doesn't do her justice). Smiley

I'm sorry you lost little Gold Dust :S she was a sweet baby. I'm a newb to this forum and have so enjoyed meeting other fish enthusiasts. Your new little Panda Puff is precious too ♥ I had the same Roman Column decoration in my hand today at the fish store. I just started up a new tank and have one darling fish I've named Mr. Tailer. Panda Puff is really different in lovely colours.

Nossie: Thanks!!! And awwww! And oooh my albino ranchu that's Jade's sister (I should post a pic) has an eye that's half red half yellow JUST LIKE YOURS!!! Cheesy
Andrea: So true! <3  Cheesy the big huge pond in the sky where one day we will get to see them and swimmy with tem too!!! lol
Mr. Tailer: Thank you for the compliments, I shall tell Panda Puff she is sure to appreciate that. Yeppers, she's a cutie I wanted her the day I got Gold Dust but my mom liked Gold Dust better so I agreed even though I wanted Pandie. Really?! I got mine at petsmart along with several pinkish purplish greenish plastic plants. When I first decorated my tank I spent 50 bucks just on decor and gravel Shocked but it's worth it to have a beautiful tank. You should post a piture of your fishy; I'd love to see.
Hanna: Fish nerds! Lol. And too true about all the tanks your house can possibly accommodate.

I know about the eye coloration - it's so unusual and striking against a pale fish in contrast. My Crystal actually is pink in color, not really white white. My sister saw her and wanted her at the store so bad but doesn't know the first thing about goldfishkeeping (she struggles with having to clean her betta bowl once every two weeks). When I got Panda, I decided to nab the pink one two and keep her so my sister could enjoy her as well without having to do the work and inevitably kill the fish in the process. Ranchus are a bit tricky sometimes I think, but they're well worth the extra observation. BUT I LOVE THE WAY THEY SWIM! They waddle around with their stubby little tails and...eeek!....follow your finger around.....happy fish love moment!!! Roll Eyes

Awesome! How big is it? When I'm outta the house I'm getting a huge 200-300 galllon tank and filling it to the top with goldies <3 :Cheesy E> and a massive 2,000 gallon + pond. I'll be known as the crazy fish lady but I won't care lol.
