Stubborn algae

My goldie tank has been up and running for about 5 months now and slowly but surely, a layer of incredibly strong green algae has grown on the back wall of the tank. I cant scrub the stuff off to save my life and I don't know how to get rid of it. Help?

Green algae is a sign of a healthy tank getting a lot of light. Next time you change the water scrub the back wall with a clean cloth (I wash my tank-cloths without detergent- but thats me being obsessive) it should come off that way, then remove most of the water and try shutting your blinds/curtains or turning off your tank light a few hours earlier.

you can either scrape it off with a knife or something sharp

OR

get a bristlenose pleco whish will eat the Algae for you
