This is what we did today.

After keeping an eye on the temperature in the big tank we decided to move it. It was hovering at 65-67. We flushed the salt water out of it, and added good water, plus the enzymes and stuff back in it. THEN, We moved Sebastian into the tank. We slowly acclimated him to the water and then let him go. I think he really likes to swim. He is pretty fast for a fantail. So he zoomed around for a while then when I was putting a fake plant in, he came over and nibbled at my hand so I went and got a little bit of the gel food and fed him a little. He's been doing so much better on the gel food and NOT over feeding. I think he's feeling much happier. So I think the big tanks cycle shouldn't have been affected by the salt, so we should be o.k.. Just in case though, we'll test the water on Tuesday, and do a partial change  if needed. I remembered to match the water temp this time!
The tank is now on an inside wall in our house and it should be warmer there. It's in the kitchen, too and he'll like the company I think.
So the minnows and a moss ball are in the ten gallon hospital tank now. I still have at least one prazi treatment to do with them then I'm not sure what to do about the weird spots. I might return them to the store. I don't think they are going away, but maybe I need to wait a bit longer.

Sebastian hasn't noticed his moss ball yet so we'll see what he does when that happens...

My first batch of gel food I made didn't gel. I think my gelatin was too old. So I bought some more and agar agar and used 2 Tsb of the agar and 1 Tsb of the gelatin and boiled the stuff for 6 minutes. It finally jelled!  A soft gel, but still it sinks now. I also added a bit more paprika and a bit of kelp powder I had.  His orange colors are really bright, so I think the gel food is enhancing his color. My recipe is going to need a little tweaking, I think.

If you look at GAB they have a color enhancing gel food recipe. It looked yummy (smelled good, too) so that is what I made. I used shrimp instead of salmon/sardines. I used the mild paprika not the hot one. For some reason it didn't gel so I ended up recooking it with agar agar and a bit more fresh geletin. Then I got a nice soft gel.
