Bon Bon,
I don't have any really cool fish like you.  I live in Northern Michigan and have to select from whatever the petshop sells.  Sad  Which isn't very much.  Now I could spend hundreds of $$$ and have a fish shipped to me I suppose but I like my fish and some of them are over 10 years old.

actually I got my Ponyo oranda from Petsupermarket. And most of the others from Petco. They got sick several times but I'm learning to care for them better. So I got them nurtured back to good health. I think your fish are just as cute. I'm sure you can get some places to ship some pretty rare ones for a decent price. Like around $15 plus $5 shipping. I personally like buying them when I can see how they behave first and that mean I have to be there in person.

I guess I'm picky.

It's good to be picky though! What if you arent, and that fish turns out to be super hyper energetic and likes pushign the other fishes around? or it just likes to hide where you cant see it? I personally think being picky is good Smiley fish with good temperaments make good friends.

I also call him Scarface.

I do professional photography. Haven't done if for pet though. Just starting and it's fun to do my own fish first. We'll see about other people's soon.

You saved a life then! I think Sonorus was a feeder fish... thats what the petstore people told me.. Mind, I got her  at Walmart.... go figure: eight dollar fish are disease ridden and die in a well aerated tank, a two dollar fish lives in a bowl that gets cleaned every week and lives for two and a half years!!!!

My fish cost $.10 (cents) each...except the shubunkin he was $1.99 and Bobbi was like $27 Shocked

oh **** no. I dont believe in that. That's like if someone you know dies and then you look up and say "Okay God I want my time with them refunded"

Thank you, I was lucky to have Bon Bon. Almost lost him too but I learned how to treat their sickness and so he recovered fully and now hogging the camera again. LOL

I agree but if the store sold you a sick fish and didn't tell you about it then I give it back for them to take care of that fish since they might do a better job and not to cost me medicine money. If the fish gets sick after I got him for a week then I'll do my best to take of him and love him just as much. That was my obligation to learn to care for another living thing beside myself. I'm not responsible enough or have enough time for a cat or a dog, and much less a child. So the fishies are my babies.

yea I just dont have the money for any other pets other than my fish. She's really cheap to take care of, seeing as I dont have to pay for a vet or food every other month ^^ She's helpful especially around exams... Calms me right down Smiley
