I found my 20 gallon tank for 30 $ and the filter for 25$ but i quess it might be where i live

i got my 55 gallon tank for 100$  with a filter with 2 fontosa chillids  ( i got rid of them for 125 $ total) so the tank cost me 75$ with a stand. check the internet see if u can get a used tank. try kijiji since you live in canada their is good deals there you just have to keep looking u could do better ( i live in kingston ontario)  there is a 33 gallon today for 75$ and a 65 gallon for for 100$ and a 20 gallon for 60$  all have everything u need. some with food keep I would keep looking where do u live katarine

kijij is not online shopping its more like a huge garage sale. somone will post a tank for sale and u have to email them or call them( it depends if they give u there phone number or email on the add) and u and him will have to meet somewhere if u want to buy it . if u choose to buy it u can always haigl for price over the phone or email

yea its a lovely little province. I've never been to Sylvan Lake, I think ive only passed through it. But yea where I'm from we get deer and Moose, even kangaroo mice XD and those thngs are CUTE

plus you get all the birds and stuff. XD

yea I decided against it for the time being. You're right, there are better things out there. much better things

remember even is the tank looks bad it can be fixed easy the bad looking tanks are less. i have seen a leaky 250 gallon go for 150$ and the person spend about 30$ and 3 or 4 hours of work (putting sealer on) now it works perfect no leaks. and is a sweet tank a 250 gallon tank would be near 1000$ around here 

BUT, NEVER BUY A TANK WITH CRACKS IN THE CORNERS/SIDES.

It's incredibly important, especially on bigger second-hand tanks that you look closely for cracks in the glass or faults in the sealant, because this might lead to bigger leaks, cracks AND problems later when the tank is filled. It's meant to support a huge amount of water, and if there's a crack in the glass, well... you do the maths! It could end up with a smaller disaster if the tank starts cracking on you.

I knööu! o__o if it'd ever happen to my babies I'd be crying constantly while trying to save them when they're fluttering on the floor after falling our of a cracked and blown up tank :'c It'd be such a pain after spending money on the tank, being happy about it and finally introducing the fish only to have it leaking... bleh.

i agree losing our kids would be bad. my fish guy ( he live just down the road) will take your fish in if there is a problem like this until u can fix it. but u have to be a regular costumer. i think u have to buy some food though. he has about 700 - 1000 gallons of fresh and salt water tanks in his shed ( it looks sweet in there)

most fish guys around here will do this to or a friend that has a tank will do the same.
always make sure u have a backup plan in-case of this

most glass tanks WILL  leak at some point. it might take 25 year though

my used tank leaked at about the 18 year mark now there is so much sealant on it i dont think it will again it is about 25 years old now

(the last owner was my brother in law thats how i know) tanks can be fixed even if there is a crack in the glass. but dont buy one that has a crack in. it leaks in the seal can be fixed to but DONT buy one like this unless u know how to fix it and it is really cheap or free.

Yes, when I fell off the step ladder on my rear I almost took Humpsis and Hepsis tank with me. It was right at the edge of the benchtop. I really was shaking, not because I fell down, but because of our fishies. I had a brandy after this.

  ROFLMAO, Minde.... eventually we'll have our little community tank with a few Tetras, one Siamese Fighter, and a couple of catfish, I won't be able either...would be laying on the bed with one foot on the floor trying to brake as the bed would spin around, LOL ... all fish would need to share ONE glass, the most, two, LOL...

I'm quite happy around here with my fiance too actually! He really likes my fish, and he's supporting me very much about keeping them and he's even helping me with the water changes! Not to mention that he snuggles with them from time to time
