My Oranda has a ripped fin. Will it eventually grow back together?

Ripped fin is not normal. You should check the water parameters to make sure they are normal. The condition could be caused by poor water quality. How often do you change the water and what is the tank size.. Once the cause of the problem is corrected, most of the fins should grow back , but it depends on how quickly you correct the problem.

The fin was ripped when I bought it. I didn't notice until I got it home. It's been a few months and he has grown quite a bit but the fin is still ripped. My water quality is fine and I do water changes weekly. Is there a food that promotes fin growth that might help in the healing proccess?

go to any pet store and get an aloe vera wather conditioner, it helps to fix ripped fins.

could you get a picture of the rip? goldfish can tear their fins any number of ways, but its strange for it NOT to have completely healed by now.
