new tank!

I am getting a 50 gallon tank and I was wondering which fish would be perfect. I am already putting my 2 fantails in their so I was wondering what other species of goldfish are the best. But I only have room for 3 more fish.
I was thinking of these kinds:

Pearlscale
Oranda
Black Moor
Ryukin
Lionchu
Lionhead

I vote for a Ryukin. They are wonderful and okay, I'm biased. My tank is only going to have fantails and Ryukins.

As it seems you are a beginner in fish keeping and not that much expereinced ( I really don't want to offend you, please say so if I am wrong ) don't go for the more sensitive species. Go for the hardier ones. They are sweet lovely fishies too.

Well based on what you both said I was researching and I found out that these were the easiest:
Black Moor
Ryunkin
Fantail

I have been fish keeping goldfish for 3 or 4 years.
It would be great if anyone has any other opinion! Cheesy

Moors are quite hardy, but you need to be careful so that the fantails won't take the food from them! So if I were you, i'd go with fantails and ryukins for now Smiley

I was wondering if Pearlscales are hardy fish. Some sites say it is easy to take care of. Other ones say they are difficult to take care of. I'm confused!!!!! Huh

Pearl scales are easy to take care of BUT you need to look out what you feed them and be sure you give them a good, varied diet. They are so round, that the smallest constipation means big, big problems due to the misplaced and "squeezed together" internal organs. They can get swim bladder problems easily, and if that's not dealt with, the fish will get stressed and most likely develop all kinds of infections.
They should also be kept in tanks with good water quality and a stable temperature, since sudden changes in temp can also cause swim bladder disorders and other issues.

First I would say that you should look at only fish that have a dorsal fin, since you already have fish with a dorsal fin.
The reason I say this is because if you put ranchus or lion heads without a dorsal fin, those fast fantails will eat all the food.
Then you will add more food and feed more so your ranchus won't starve and your tank will become polluted very quickly!
I would stick to the fantails, personally.  Even really good ryukins get constipated easily and have a more round, compact body than the fantails.  Ryukins definately need a stable water temp too!  I LOVE my ryukins but they were both upside down the first week I got them due to the stress of the extreme change in water temperature and change in diet maybe.  I fed peas and oranges and spiralina their first week here until now they are straightened out and swimming great and beautiful. Smiley
Ryukins are a little more work and so are moors touchy at times.   Fantails are the hardiest so I would vote for them. Wink

There are some really gorgeous fantails!!
Some have really long beautiful tails and a metalic scale.
I love the calico ones like that!! Smiley

Totally agree with what everyone else has said and I'm so glad you have accepted it Cheesy I'd go for another three fantails too, they are just fantastic fish and I really miss having one. They are little greedy guts with the biggest personalities  Wink You could look into getting all different coloured fantails as there is alot of variety.

What colours are the ones you have now?

Pick a few with fun colors Wink My four fantails go so nicely together as I have a red one, a white one, and those two calicos Smiley The calicos have very different patterns from one another by the way Wink

I have a white fantail and a calico fantail. The calico one is mostly black spotted but their is some red in there too! Yes my fantails are really greedy usually they finish all the food!

The only thing I'm worried about is keeping my self away from the calico orandas or it might end up in my tank! Grin

Orandas are pretty strong and easy to care for, so if you happen to see one, do add it with your fantails Wink Can't see why not Smiley
But you need to be strict with yourself so that you won't get lazy with feeding them veggies and live foods aside from the pellets!! Wink

Hehehe me and my sister sat their for an hours staring at all the orandas. One tank held a bunch of baby red capped orandas. Another had gold and calico orandas which were almost 6 inches long! Giant black moors were below them with gold fantails. Red and white ruynkins hid in logs with pearlscales and lionheads! 12 inch Sarassa comets lived with butterfly koi in another tank! In another tank there was Shubunkins and Common Goldfish.

It was goldfish heaven there in PetSmart! Grin
