White spot on nose

My granddaughter bought a fancy tailed goldfish and left it at my house.  I noticed a small white spot on the fishes nose.  Is this common?
The fish was named "Moose" but I have renamed it "Miss Piggy" because when I feed it, it eats like a little pig.  Makes me laugh.

Is the spot cottony, or fuzzy looking?  If it is then it may have a fungal infection and should be treated with a fungicide such as PIMAFIX.

x2. Hi there! But mine has it on the tail end. I've noticed it last week when it was kind of fuzzy, just 1 tho. It's in a 28 gal. bowfront, so what I did, I added some API salt about 5 tbspn. Then, about 2 days ago, I looked at him again, and the fuzzy went away, but now it looks like a size of a pinhole. So, I don't know what's going on???

JNocon:: Maybe you didn't finish the treatment. For how long did you have the fish in the salt bath? Five days?
By the way, is the fish acting alright, is he eating, swimming... looking healthy?
