Well actually the female betta has to be removed after mating or she will fight with the male and try to eat the eggs. The male builds a bubble nest for the eggs and guards the bubble nest until the babies hatch.

O_o thats kinda gross... Can you imagine eating your own kid? thats just... so wrong.. but I guess fish dont have consiences, so they cant tell the difference between kids and food...

In this one book I have they say a goldfish can distinguish between shapes and colors and such and have eyesight that is very simular to ours. I'm like "Get real...sheesh mine can't even distinguish between a flake a food and their friends turd floating about"!

yes goldfish eyes are not that much different to ours.
A few weeks ago I started a thread like "Calling moderator...." but not much happened. Must be under General discussion.

I don't think there are freshwater seahorses are there? If there were then they would be compatable with a goldfish.
