What should I get: a fancy goldfish or a betta?

I already have two bettas... should I get a betta or a fancy goldfish for the new tank I'm getting? I want both.... help me!

If this is for the 1.5-gallon Mini-Bow, get the betta (and a heater!). Goldfish need a minimum of 20 gallons per fish due to the high amounts of waste output, as well as how large they tend to grow (some get as big as a foot long!).

Never keep the two together, as bettas are tropical fish and require steady minimum temps of 75 degrees, and goldfish are coldwater fish - if you keep them at tropical temps, they are more likely to get sick and die.

bettas are extremely beautiful and require not much space, however fancy goldfish need a bit more room.
I am afraid i do not know much about betta's, but i have found fancy goldfish to be vey interesting.
They are fairly easy to keep, but i have found that they need good filtration because they are messy, and they are better with fake aquarium plants because they are greedy!
The more fancy the goldfish the more problems they seem to get, for instance the ones like black moors seem to be more prone to swim bladder infections.
You have to watch ammonia levels with goldfish too.
Overall though, i think you should keep goldfish in one tank and the bettas in another, try and get a few different varietys of goldfish, they are all ok together and see how it goes.
They are easy to maintain in terms of temperature etc, and i think all fish are great.

Just give it a go, i dont think you will regret trying them if you are a good owner!!

i know how you feel. the same thing happened to me. i have 3 bettas and a goldfish. try getting a goldfish.
