One of my fish died....

I've had two goldfish since they were very tiny. I got them about 3.5 years ago from a carnival at my college, and they were no bigger than the size of a pencil eraser. I've always taken really good care of them, and I was surprised they lasted this long. I thought maybe they've been alive for such a long time because they had each other. It sounds weird, but I've never had one goldfish last this long alone with the same care I've been giving these two. This morning while I was asleep, one of them jumped out of the water and died on my carpet. I'm worried about the other and wondering if I should try to go find another similar sized goldfish to put in the tank so that she's not alone. I've looked around online and haven't been able to find any discussions or information about something like this. Does anybody have any advice?

I think you should get a small tank with light hood so the other one doesnt jump out. Sorry about your fish_I have 2 goldfish from a carnival too. Only had them a few weeks but are doing great! Good luck
