Lethargic Goldfish (shock?)
« on: June 14, 2010, 04:16:26 PM »

Today (which is the first full day I've had my fish) a lot of what she's doing is "sitting" and the bottom of her tank and barely moving at all.  I read that this is just a "rest" and it is healthy for the goldfish but she just sits at the bottom enclosed into her pineapple that she likes to be in and doesn't come out for food.  I got her to eat a single flake today but that's about it.  Yesterday when I got her she zipped all over the place and was very active.  Does this sound like she's just in shock from her new tank?  Huh

okay, how big is your tank? has it cycled at all? Im guessing you have aeration, filtration, all that stuff... From the sounds of it it is shock, My fish did that too when she was first introduced to my 20 gal. her and Tiger both. Im gonna say stress. theres this lovely stuff called stresszyme. its supposed to help. Try not to bug her for this little while.

Oh, and if you're new to fish keeping. It can get expensive. so take care of the fish, and you wont have to pay for meds XD
