white spot on tail, pale and weak

Hello, I have just come back from holiday to find my beautiful ranchu had some mold in his tank and he is quite pale and weak. He also now has a white mold-ish looking spot on the tip of his tail. We have done an immediate 2/3rds water change but needed any other advice anyone may have. Very sad and concerned but appreciative of any help.

The only two medications I have ever used are API's Melafix and Pimafix.  Pima fix is an anti-fungal fish remedy.  Melafix is a antibacterial remedy.
You can get it at most stores that sell aquatic pet supplies.  Just follow the directions on the bottle.  If your fish is in with other fish, you might want to move him to a hospital tank. 
You might want to add salt to your hospital tank, follow directions on box for sick fish.  The salt will provide electrolyes for your fish.
Also, you can use both pimafix and melafix at the same time, which is great because sometimes a fungal infection and bacterial infection go hand in hand.

Are the spots cottony or fuzzy looking?
Or are they like grains of sugar?
Melafix and Pimafix are excellent medications as well as good old aquarium salt.
