No idea. They have to be adults before you can tell, the males will have pimples on their gill covers called tubercles during the breeding season. Get them out of that bowl before they die! Goldfish cannot live long in bowls!

You are missing the point! They will die before growing up! You need a 30-50 gallon tank with filtration!

They are stunted, unhealthy and very unhappy if they are living in a bowl. Don't expect them to live even close to the 30 year lifespan. I'm glad you are getting a tank. 50 gallons is the bare minimum for 4 single-tail goldfish (and even that is a rather tight fit).

How big are your two year old fish? My two year old ranchu is 10 inches and my 10month old oranda is 8 inches.

Hi bunty,

As it's already been mentioned, you can't keep those goldfish in an un-filtered bowl, because goldfish give off large amounts of waste they need large tanks with lots of filtration. When this doesn't happen, the fish effectively poison themselves with their own waste, it is very un pleasant for the fish as they are pretty much living in their own toilet and it can lead to serious illness or death.
Because of this filtration needs to be ideally at 10x the size of the tank  Smiley So in a 50 gallon tank thats 500 gallons per hour of filtration.

From the picture it looks like you have a fantail and a common goldfish? Or are they both single tailed goldfish?
Also what type of goldfish are the others?

Generally with fancy goldfish, the stocking rule is 20 gallons for the first fish and 10 gallons for each additional fish. Which is why Cheri stated a 40 - 50 gallon tank minimum for the goldfish.
However if they are single tailed goldfish, then they will need much more space, such as a large tank or pond.
I go into this topic in more detail here; (Link is not visible to guests. Please register to view.)

When are you hoping to get the tank? As those fish really need to be moved as soon as possible, you can cycle the new tank with the goldfish in it, I think it would be much better for them, than keeping them in the bowl and fishless cycling the new tank.
If you do not know what I mean by cycling a tank, then please say and one of us will explain it Smiley

Let us know how you get on.
