Please help!! Very poorly shubunkin

My shubunkin Daryl has White spots covering his entire body, he is a mass of them. I know this is White spot as I had it in the main tank last week! He was already in the quarantine tank which I treated with s
Aquarium salt at the time. He seemed fine and I thought he had gotten away with it, but obviously not! The thing that worries ne is he also has red marks all over him aswell! The look like bruises or burns of some kind! I have White spot treatment to treat him with but I don't know what the red marks are and they worry me more than the White spot at re moment! Could this be hand in hand with the White spot from where he has been rubbing up against things or is it something else! Can any one help me! I tested the water and the nitrite was a little high as was the ammonia! I did a water change and have put some aqaurium salt in! The tank isn't very big only about a bucket full! (not all that good at litres I reily on my partner for that) it isn't ideal I know but it is the only thing I have to put him in and it has a filter! Can anyone advise me on what to do and what the red marks are? Could they be sores from where he has been rubbing up against this because of the White spot? I will post some pictures but I can't right now as I am on my iPod and it won't let me, I will have to do it tomorrow!

Daryl has cuts and scrapes. What you do is dab the areas with hydrogen peroxide only once per wound.

Given good water quality his wounds should heal naturally, but keep an eye out for secondary infections.

I am doing! I cleaned his water yesterday and I am going to do it again today! I do put some aquarium salt in will this help stop him getting an infection or should I get some anti bacterial medicine to put in the tank? Also should I treat him for his wounds first or the White spot?

The white spot is what is causing him to harm himself, so get rid of that, and tend to his wounds in due course. hold off on the AB's unless you are sure that the wounds have become infected.

Well I put some salt in last night, with a small drop of tap water conditioner and his wounds look better! They were bright red last night now they are darker! I have done the same today! I will give him another water change tomorrow and put some White spot treatment in instead of salt and see how he goes on! Poor thing I can't believe I didn't notice before now! I feel so guilty! I check on him everyday and I didn't notice!

Get better soon Daryl!
Let us know how he gets on! Whitespot treatment is usually quite quick and effective at working!

I had it in my main tank last week but I thought he had gotten away with it because even though he did meet Merle, who brought the White spot from the pet shop, he had been in contact long as he was bullying him. So he was already quarantined when the outbreak started! Looks like he hadn't gotten away with it! He must have had it all this time! To start with when I first quarantined him I put some aquarium salt in the tank which must have kept the symptoms at bay for a while! The only thing was I had to take the salt out whilst I treated the main tank so I could put my apple snails in with him and it must have gotten worse from there! I checked on him earlier and he was swimming around which he wasn't doing last night! So fingers crossed!
Attached is a picture of him from last night.
