Petsitting for a month, Tips?

Ok, my friend gave me her goldfish because she is going to go out of town soon. She has three comet goldfish, and because she thought that it would be a huge hassle for her to bring her 10 gallon tank to my house. She separated her three fish into 2 1-gallon fish bowls; one in a bowl, two in a different bowl. Since I'm new to the fish community, how often do you guys think that I should clean each bowl (25% water change with gravel vacuum and add dechlorinated water)?
She also left me with some fish supplies:
API Aquarium Salt
Stress Coat- Fish and Water Conditioner
API Melafix
Aqueon Gravel Vacuum
Wardley Goldfish Flake Food
and a fish net

Get her to bring the tank!!! D:
The 10 gallon is far too small, but the bowls are even worse, you might even kill off a few of the fish before she'd be back :/
Should you get the 10 gallon, change 50% of the water maybe twice a week considering how crowded it is.
