All too often , the first pond built by many fish enthusiasts is too small. That is why every effort should be made to build as large a pond as possible at the start. Pond expansions can be expensive and difficult task. A small pond is difficult to maintain and you are restricted in the number of fish that can be kept. Some experts recommend 150 square feet as a minimum surface area for a fish pond.
