Karma to you, my lovely fish friend, I was so worried about Tailer the whole night and always said in my thoughts, "Tailer you must get well, please get well"

So I am glad he's better now, hope this progress will continue

So grateful for all your continued positive words, he is much more comfortable now and the seizing seems to have halted (fins crossed) all of the suggestions you provided were excellent. Because I didn't know just how ill he was, it was too much for his little system to take. We all have the best intentions at heart so thank you for trying your best to help him ♥ Taking a water sample to the store to be tested for hardness and phosphates as they didn't come in the mini kit I got for xmas. It was refreshing to have a staff member at petsmart NOT trying to make a sale instead she wanted to really try and save my old boy Smiley

I don't recognize him as he appears to be bleeding from the inside out. Went to have my water tested at petsmart to rule out any error on my part with it and the same sweet gal said it is perfect even hardness and phosphates perfectly normal. We talked a good long while and I showed her pics and video of him, she's never seen this much damage to a fish swimming in perfect water conditions. I suggested maybe he was allergic to the medicated food or fungus guard I began with. Or the combo simply had the reverse effect on him. He's head to tail bloody, heavy waxy slimecoat and looks at me with the saddest eyes. I am done, broken but keep talking to him with smiles and sweet voices. There is nothing more to be suggested so please send him loving thoughts.

I don't believe that!
I really think if you would have stuck to the maracyn II treatment you would have seen an improvement withion 24-48 hrs.
That is just my opinion.  And also, when treating with medicated food you cannot feed anything else but the medicated food for the amount of time it says on the bottle which is usually about a week.
I don't know what you have to lose at this point and why you won't at least treat with the maracyn II since you bought it.

I did use Maracyn ll and it ate him alive, caused seizures, lost balance. 10 hrs after the posted video above, he literally began to disintegrate! The manager at the store felt as I did that it is quite possible that he had an allergic reaction to the medicine. It was only when I changed the water that it stopped the agonizing pain he was clearly in. He began to eat again. To not believe me??? The only thing I have to lose here is a part of my soul, I will not deliberately inflict suffering onto a lifeforce so innocent and precious to me as he is! How dare you insinuate my lack of caring and treatment in this matter. I know this particular Goldfish, he is an extension of my heart and soul every single nuance, so to suggest that I have done anything LESS than humanly possible is beyond my understanding of you.

The video in first post was taken on the 27th at 12 noon and this is how damaged he is 48 hrs later. Massive immune system failure so he couldn't take the strong meds.

I'm wondering if he has body slime fungus.  Here is the diagnosis for it.
The protective coating of slime on the fish turns white and starts to slough off.  the ends of the fins and tail start to fray.  Bloody streaks appear on the body and fins.  Unforunately most antibiotics do not kill it.  There was something called tropic Cure which you would put in 1 TBS in 8 oz of water and dip the fish in the solution for 2 seconds.  It killed the fungus and the fish was cured within a week.  The label listed .024% Merbromin (mechurochrome) and 4% sodium chloride (salt) The color indicated a presence of copper as well.  You can try making your own solution with 4 ounces of saturated salt solution and to this add a 2 oz 2% tinture of mechurochrome and one oz of NOX ICH or malchite green.  Use 1 tsp in 8 oz of water. catch the fish in a net and dip him with the net in the solution for 2 seconds.  Return him to clean water for 5-10 mins and repeat for another 2 seconds of the dip treatment.If the remedy is correct, the fish will come out of the second dip clean and only slightly stained.  The fish will suffer no shock and the frayed fins will grow back in a remarkably short time.  If the fin does not come out clean, you can try increasing the strength of the dip solution and the amount a few seconds longer with the dip.
I'm wondering if we should have gone with the rid Ich Plus like we talked about before when the whieness first appeared on his head. Undecided

so sorry to hear about your baby hun. I have been watching but trying to stay out of it since you already getting alot of advice but i have one thing you might try. There is a help line from fishyfarmacy.com, it is free and they are very helpful i have called on at least 3 occasions and they are not about seeling their products they just do everything to help you cure them. on two of the occasions they sent me to local petstores for meds and not pushing their stuff. I managed to save two of the fish they helped with and beat a very resistant strain of ich. Only fish i lost was georgie who had a horrible case of dropsy. it is a fish pharmacist his mother and brother and they have many many years expierence. I was sent to them by Ken from dandy orandas (goldfishconnection auction) I couldnt hurt to tell them all that has happened and everything that has been done and ask what they recommend as best corse of action to save your baby. I hope they can help tell you what to get and do to save him. Good luck! Keep faith he can possibly pull through, dont give up yet. yes he looks very sick but if hes eating that is a good sign. 1-520-298-7814

It makes me so sad to see Mr Tailer like this, this was the first post I opened and was expecting him to be better. I think what Minde and Aimee suggested are great ideas. You could also join the GAB forum, they are alot of experts on there and they along with people on here really helped me when Sunshine was sick.

It really does look like it is in the inside, so I could only suggest to continue with the anti-biotic food. I wish I could help more, I have al these ideas but they are just guesses and not expert advice so I don't want to bombard you with it Sad

Is there a vet near you that helps with fish? I was this close to taking photos of Sunshine to the vet when she was sick, I was planning on taking photos, some water from the tank and maybe a swap of the fish which they could look at under a microscope  Huh Maybe you could ring around and ask. Everything is worth trying when it comes to our fishie friends.

Please keep us updated and check out the forum I suggested. I just want to post something up there myself in order to help you out but I don't want to do it unless you know.

Thank you for doing your best to help my precious guy but he was just too sick to take any further treatment. He died a little while ago Cry he taught me so much about patience and good old fashioned love and friendship. The gift that will live beyond him is in all of you and the kindness you've shown us. I can't express how sorry I feel for you April, I feel so sad like I've lost my own fish Sad I just want to give you a great big hug and make sure you are ok! This really breaks my heart because you did everything right. I hope he went quickly and peacefully.

May Mr. Tailer rip and have fun swimming in the big pond in the sky. I will also miss those photos of him.
